Netherlands – “… always take the weather with you…”

Umbrella ?
Umbrella ?

People, in general, tend to complain about almost everything, but the weather is one of the easiest topics. In the Netherlands I’ve learnt that sooner or later it’s going to rain, everyday… So I was enjoying each second of sunshine!

I have to admit there are also some sunny days and umbrella may be not the best solution when the wind is very strong.

Anyway, I find these umbrellas cute. They are blue and withe like traditional porcelain, with typical Dutch patterns.

Ludzie zawsze znajd膮 jaki艣 pow贸d do narzeka艅, a pogoda jest chyba jednym z naj艂atwiejszych temat贸w. Mieszkaj膮c w Holandii, nauczy艂am si臋, 偶e pr臋dzej czy p贸藕niej b臋dzie pada膰, codziennie… Wi臋c trzeba si臋 cieszy膰 ka偶dym promykiem s艂o艅ca!

Musz臋 przyzna膰, 偶e codziennie nie pada艂o, i do艣wiadczy艂am wiele s艂onecznych dni.

Netherlands – Cheese

Cheese in Delft
Cheese in Delft

While being in the Netherlands you have to try Dutch cheese.
There are a few famous cheese-towns in the Netherlands and cheese is delicious.
I’ll back to cheese-topic later on my blog.

This photo was taken in a lovely town Delft, that is famous for blue-white porcelain. When you visit the Netherlands, put this town on your list together with The Hague, they’re nearby and very well connected!

B臋d膮c w Holandii, koniecznie trzeba spr贸bowa膰 pyszny, holenderski ser.

A tymczasem kilka s艂贸w o dzisiejszym zdj臋ciu.

Netherlands – or Holland ?

Sailing
Sailing

This month I’ll show you the Netherlands. It’s a small European country, where I was lucky to live for 3 years. During that time, I visited many lovely towns, castles, islands, and of course windmills.

So what’s the name of this country – Holland or the Netherlands?
Probably the best way to understand it, is to watch this great, short video.
To make the story short – it’s the Netherlands ! However, there are 2 provinces called “South Holland” and “North Holland”, they’re highly populated with important cities like Amsterdam. So no wonder that many people in the Netherlands say that they live in Holland…

I didn’t live in Holland, I lived in the Netherlands.

W tym miesi膮cu chcia艂abym pokaza膰 Wam zdj臋cia z Holandii. W tym czasie, mia艂am wiele okazji do zwiedzania uroczych holenderskich miasteczek, zamk贸w, wysepek i oczywi艣cie wiatrak贸w.

Mam nadziej臋, 偶e zdj臋cia si臋 Wam spodobaj膮, bo Holandia jest uroczym pa艅stwem i ma do zaoferowania znacznie wi臋cej ni偶 tylko Amsterdam.

Argentina – Final impression

Patagonian dogs, Argentina
Patagonian dogs, Argentina

To end this month about Argentina, I want to show you the last picture from Argentine Patagonia. I hope you like this dog and Patagonia, and maybe one day you’ll visit these beautiful places, and at least one glacier!

Maybe you realized, that I didn’t mention yerba mate (which is a kind of tea). I’ll talk about it while showing you my daily impressions of Uruguay. Even Argentines say they don’t drink it as much mate as people in Uruguay.

Mam nadziej臋, 偶e piesek Wam si臋 spodoba艂, a co wa偶niejsze – Patagonia. Mo偶e kt贸rego艣 dnia odwiedzicie te urocze miejsca i przynajmniej jeden z lodowc贸w?

Nawet Argenty艅czycy uwa偶aj膮, 偶e w Urugwaju najwi臋cej si臋 pije mate.

Argentina – Blue whipped cream

Glaciers in Argentina
Glaciers in Argentina

Doesn’t it look like a whipped cream or at least like something eatable?

When you take a boat trip you may actually try this “blue whipped cream”. Sometimes they serve drinks with ice from the glaciers.

Argentina – Glaciers

One of my favorite days in Patagonia was when I took a cruise to the glaciers. It’s a short distance from El Calafate; it’s not Perito Moreno. It’s so amazing to observe all blueish ice formations. It was very relaxing for me, but quite exhausting for my camera.

__________________________________________________________

By艂 to spokojny, leniwy dzie艅, przepe艂niony wspania艂ymi widokami.

Argentina – Ice-cream

Glaciers in Argentina
Glaciers in Argentina

The name of the town El Calafate has actually nothing in common with glaciers. It’s from a little bush with dark blue berries. While in El Calafate, search for ice cream with “Calafate” berries.

__________________________________________________________

Gdy b臋dziecie w El Calafate poszukajcie lod贸w z jagodami “Calafate”.

Argentina – Capital of glaciers

El Calafate in Argentina is called the capital of glaciers. And there is a good reason for this name.

In the picture you can see one of many glaciers nearby El Calafate.

Argentina – Guanaco

Guanaco in Argentina
Guanaco in Argentina

While hiking, or just driving in Patagonia you’ll certainly spot many of these cute animals. The guanaco is sometimes called the South American camel. But when you see them for the first time you think it’s a llama rather than a camel. After spending more time in South America you’ll learn how to distinguish llama from guanaco, alpaca, or even vicu帽a.

__________________________________________________________

Taki zwierz kojarzy si臋 raczej z lam膮, a nie z wielb艂膮dem… Gdy sp臋dzicie wi臋cej czasu w Ameryce Po艂udniowej nauczycie si臋 rozr贸偶nia膰 lam臋, guanako, alpak臋 i wikuni臋.

Argentina – Hiking

Are you a climber? If so, there are great opportunities in this area!

I’m not a climber, I love hiking. You can easily hike around El Chalten. I promise, it’s going to be one of your favorite days in Patagonia.

Wspinacie si臋?

Z El Chalten znajdziecie wiele 艂atwych tras z cudownymi widokami.
