Bye bye Crete!
I hope you enjoyed my sunny pictures from Crete.
Do I recommend visiting Crete?
-Well, I recommend to visit “all” Greek Islands. 😀
(but not in summer 😉 )

-Well, I recommend to visit “all” Greek Islands. 😀
(but not in summer 😉 )
Agios Nikolaos is a town for tourists with many hotels;
not my first choice destination,
but I have to say it has some charming places!
Archanes is a nice small town on Crete.
I visited Elounda kind of by accident and was positively surprised. 🙂
Elounda is a small, nice town.
Enjoying sunset is a thing to do on each island, isn’t it?
Crete is also an island with nice mountains.
Today’s picture shows a typical mountain view from Kritsa.
Kritsa may be also a place for buying souvenirs,
especially if you like hand made products, e.g., lace.
Kritsa is a traditional village with old houses and narrow streets.
Kritsa was for me just a place on the way, for a short stop.
It happened to be a lovely village.
Fortezza of Rethymno is a place where you simply must go while visiting the city.
I went to Rethymno without really knowing what to expect,
and it was a great visit!
Highly recommended!
Rethymno is located 80 km from Heraklion,
so it’s quite far, but it’s worth visiting!
Not a spectacular sunset, but still a nice moment to see the Rethymno Lighthouse.
Rethymno is a nice and interesting city on Crete.
If you want to “go outside”, I mean outside Crete, then visit Santorini.
You can have a day trip or even longer, if you have time.
I used to thought, Santorini is the most beautiful Greek island.
But I see how it’s getting more and more crowded,
plus my Greek friend convinced me that other islands are more beautiful,
so now I even think that Crete is much more interesting than Santorini.
Well, we’re changing all the time. 😀
I know, the sea is not visible here,
but I still call it “sunny colors of Crete”. 🙂
If you like buying souvenirs, you’ll find some nice items on Crete,
and even made in Crete. 😉
Of course, enjoy also water while being on Crete. 😉
Knossos is located about 5 km from Heraklion.
Don’t miss it while being on Crete.
