While showing you the last picture from the Halong Bay, I want to share with you some information about importance of water in Vietnam.
First, Vietnam is a coastal country and has many major sea ports. And also rivers play here an important role (especially the Mekong Delta and Red River Delta).
Unfortunately, like in many Asian countries, water pollution is quite high and I wouldn’t drink there any tap water. The Halong Bay seemed to be clean, but very often in Asia (also in Vietnam) you can observe how badly locals treat water (rivers, lakes, sea) and how dirty it is… 🙁

Dzisiaj, przy okazji ostatniego zdjęcia z zatoki Halong, kilka słów na temat wody.
Mam na myśli wszelkie rzeki, jeziora i morze w Wietnamie. 🙂 A jest ich sporo! Wietnam ma bardzo długą linię brzegową i posiada kilka ważnych portów morskich. Rzeki, przede wszystkim Rzeka Czerwona i Mekong, również odgrywają istotną rolę.
Niestety, jak to w przypadku wielu państw azjatyckich, zanieczyszczenie wody jest dość duże i np. nie odważyłabym się pić wody z kranu w Wietnamie. Zatoka Halong wydaje się być dość czysta, jednak w wielu innych miejscach bez problemu da się zauważyć, że mało kto szanuje rzeki, jeziora, czy morze… 🙁

Unfortunately when we visited Halong Bay, water was also filthy in places with plastic bottles and things floating around (not something you want to touch).
In general while I have a very positive view on people in Vietnam regarding how friendly they are, they do not seem to take good care of Nature. We met a lot of litter everywhere basically, from streets to water and forests.

The same in China. The existance (meaning ever-lasting existence) of nature is so obvious for these people that they don’t bother even thinking about any “green” approach”.
