Australia – Great Barrier Reef

Great Barrier Reef, Australia

The Great Barrier Reef is one of the main attractions in Australia. It’s the world’s largest coral reef and simply stunning! It’s an unforgettable experience to snorkel or dive there. However, there is also a sad part about it, people often kill the reef simply by touching it! So please, be careful while observing any reef.

  1. People stepping on them, and global warming is even worse … The bleaching/dying of the corals is getting really bad dimensions. I was so shocked few years ago when I read that scientists predict their vanishing within 20-30 years … Extra sad and upsetting …

  2. Have you seen Chasing Coral, it won the Sundance Film Festival and is up for an Oscar. It details the devastation in the GBR. I was also there in 2016, when 29% of the reef died. 29%!
