Fortezza of Rethymno is a place where you simply must go while visiting the city.

I went to Rethymno without really knowing what to expect,
and it was a great visit!
Highly recommended!

Rethymno is located 80 km from Heraklion,
so it’s quite far, but it’s worth visiting!

Not a spectacular sunset, but still a nice moment to see the Rethymno Lighthouse.

Rethymno is a nice and interesting city on Crete.

If you want to “go outside”, I mean outside Crete, then visit Santorini.
You can have a day trip or even longer, if you have time.
I used to thought, Santorini is the most beautiful Greek island.
But I see how it’s getting more and more crowded,
plus my Greek friend convinced me that other islands are more beautiful,
so now I even think that Crete is much more interesting than Santorini.
Well, we’re changing all the time. π

I know, the sea is not visible here,
but I still call it “sunny colors of Crete”. π

If you like buying souvenirs, you’ll find some nice items on Crete,
and even made in Crete. π

Of course, enjoy also water while being on Crete. π

Knossos is located about 5 km from Heraklion.
Don’t miss it while being on Crete.

Knossos is a large archaeological site on Crete.
One of the must-see places on the island!

The mysterious βPhaistos Disk” can be also seen in the Heraklion Archaeological Museum.
You’ll find there lots of ancient treasure.

Don’t miss a wonderful attraction of Heraklion – Heraklion Archaeological Museum!
It’s such a great museum!

Heraklion is also called Iraklion.

Heraklion is a busy city with a few tourist attractions (e.g., the Venetian fortress).
It’s also an important port.
But you can still find there places to relax.

Heraklion is a capital city of Crete.

Is there any Greek island with no cats? π

Crete is a very touristic island.
Everyone can find something nice, including luxury, hiking, budget and even nice, calm areas.
The island is big enough to provide enough space for everyone – at least that was my impression from 10 years ago.

Crete is the largest Greek island.

Welcome September, welcome Crete!
This month we’ll spend on this nice Greek Island. π
