That’s the flag of Malaysia.
That’s the flag of Malaysia.
Malays is an ethnic group from the Malay Peninsula.
Malays mostly live in Malaysia, but also in Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and other places.
If Malaysia is the Land of the Malays, are there only Malays who live in Malaysia?
-No!
Malaysia is quite diverse with the majority of Malays and indigenous people of Malaysia, but also big population of Chinese and Indians (Malaysia Indians).
The name of the country Malaysia can be translated as the Land of the Malays.
Malaysia is a country of different faces, with lots of varieties;
i.e., very modern areas, very poor, very traditional, plus different cultures etc.
You can kind of say it about each country, but it’s not really like that. 😉
If you could visit only one Asian country to get a “feeling of Asia” – go to Malaysia.
-That was my first impression in Malaysia and I still didn’t change my mind.
Malaysia is located in Southeast Asia.
Welcome to Malaysia!
This month on my blog is going to be all about Malaysia.
Bye bye Crete!
I hope you enjoyed my sunny pictures from Crete.
Do I recommend visiting Crete?
-Well, I recommend to visit “all” Greek Islands. 😀
(but not in summer 😉 )
Agios Nikolaos is a town for tourists with many hotels;
not my first choice destination,
but I have to say it has some charming places!
Archanes is a nice small town on Crete.
I visited Elounda kind of by accident and was positively surprised. 🙂
Elounda is a small, nice town.
Enjoying sunset is a thing to do on each island, isn’t it?
Crete is also an island with nice mountains.
Today’s picture shows a typical mountain view from Kritsa.
Kritsa may be also a place for buying souvenirs,
especially if you like hand made products, e.g., lace.
Kritsa is a traditional village with old houses and narrow streets.
Kritsa was for me just a place on the way, for a short stop.
It happened to be a lovely village.
Fortezza of Rethymno is a place where you simply must go while visiting the city.
I went to Rethymno without really knowing what to expect,
and it was a great visit!
Highly recommended!
Rethymno is located 80 km from Heraklion,
so it’s quite far, but it’s worth visiting!
