On the last picture of Oslo, I wanted to show you something very typical for the Norwegian capital. One of the options was Oslo City Hall, but to be honest, it’s not the most beautiful building, so I skipped this idea.
National Opera House is another very famous building in Oslo. It’s very fancy and it’s even possible to walk on top of it.
At the end, Akershus Fortress (Akershus Castle) was my choice. Dating from 1299, it’s a medieval castle and the royal residence, with time it developed into a fortress to protect Oslo. In my opinion, it’s the most beautiful building from the three landmarks I mentioned above, but I’m biased, because I don’t like so much modern architecture.
While sightseeing the fortress, we met a cute and bold seagull. We spent a long while taking photos of it, so it’s in today’s picture, instead of yet another buildings. 😉 However it sits on the castle walls and I’m sure the bird is staring at Akershus Castle. 😉

Jako ostatnie zdjęcie z Oslo, chciałam Wam pokazać coś typowego dla norweskiej stolicy. Jedną z opcji był ratusz, jednak ten budynek nie należy do najpiękniejszych, więc ten pomysł szybko został odrzucony.
Budynek Opery w Oslo jest bardzo charakterystyczny, szczególnie że można się na niego wspiąć i pospacerować po ukośnym dachu. Jednak mój wybór padł na Twierdzę Akershus (Zamek Akershus). Historia średniowiecznego zamku sięga 1299 roku. Po wielu latach został przekształcony w twierdzę do obrony Oslo.
Według mnie Zamek Akershus jest najpiękniejszym z wymienionych tutaj budynków, jednak moja ocena nie jest obiektywna, gdyż nowoczesne budowle raczej nie wzbudzają mojego zachwytu.
Zwiedzając zamek, poznaliśmy uroczą mewę i przez dłuższą chwilę była naszą modelką. 😉 Więc to ona, na dzisiejszym zdjęciu. Jednak dodam, że siedzi na murach zamku i jestem pewna, że spogląda na Zamek Akershus. 😉

Oh I was in Oslo about this time last year. I loved visiting all the viking museums and the fran museum. My favourite was the Akershus Castle. I can’t believe how big the seagulls were in Oslo, I thought they were eagles!

Beautifully captured photo! The bird looks quite content to pass the hours away in quiet meditation. It’s funny how many birds we see actually nesting on castle settlements here in the UK. They’re usually seagulls on the coastal ones. ?
