In some places, not only in New Zealand, wind is strong enough to reshape trees. People call them windswept trees (today’s picture).
The most famous place like that in New Zealand is the Slope Point. But it’s not the only one, you’ll find windswept trees in other places as well, especially along the coastline. These trees look really spectacular, a bit like dead or artificial trees. 🙂

J’aime beaucoup. Surtout en B/W.
🙂
Their shapes tell a story of their life in the wind….
indeed, that’s so true! 🙂
What a great photo! I love the sculpted quality of these trees. Little wonder they chose NZ in which to film The Lord of The Rings.
that’s so true! Amazing country! 🙂
That photo is both beautiful and very eerie! I like it. Looks like it could be the cover of a brilliant and classy novel about ghosts and paranormal happenings. Has such a book ever been written? If so, I’d like to read it, and if not, I hope a book like that is written soon, so your picture can be on its cover.
That’s super sweet of you! 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
What a sight those trees are. One that I really appreciated when I left NZ was the lack of wind.
hihi, good point! 🙂
Have a great weekend, Susan!
Lovely tree, shaped by the wind. Excellent photo.
Thank you! 🙂
Poor things! We do seem to have had some seriously windy weather here too just lately.
That’s true, it’s not normal… however, they look really amazing…
Great blog!
Would you like to support each other by following each other´s blog? ^_^
Et Omnia Vanitas
Thank you! 🙂
wow! I have not seen anything similar. Amazing picture and forces of nature!
Thank you! Exactly, nature is extremely powerful…
Just a t a glance one would be convinced the trees are in motion. Fascinating!
Thank you! 🙂
Have a great weekend!
How long would you recommend me to stay there :)?
At least 3 weeks. it’s already long enough to visit a lot, but longer is better 🙂
Niesamowite te drzewa ! Kształty jak z baśni 🙂
przypomniała mi się taka baśń z dzieciństwa o silnym wietrze 😀
An artistic shot
Thank you! 🙂
Mother nature is the best artist, isn’t she?
I definitely would have thought those were dead trees, but for your comment!
They are really strange, even when you see them growing, you have the impression they’re fake… 😉
Great lines and textures. This would make a great pen drawing.
Super photo. Thanks.
Thank you very much! 🙂
These trees can be very inspiring 🙂
