As its name says, the Red Centre is a huge outback region located more or less in the centre of Australia (in the Northern Territory). It covers red desert, mountains, gorges, and some of Aboriginal most sacred sites. It’s mostly known from Uluru (Ayers Rock).

Australia is famous for deadly animals. There is a reason why people say that everything in Australia wants (tries) to kill you. Obviously, it’s not completely true. I spent almost a month in Australia, camping a lot, and nothing bad happened (but you never know…). 🙂 Anyway, it’s better to be careful and respect all insects, snakes, jellyfish, stingrays, or any wild animals.

Ah, what’s interesting, bees and snakes cause the highest number of deaths in Australia.

Is it always hot in Australia?
I think, it’s kind of imagination about Australia that there is always hot.
Well, Australia is a huge country. Its climate is influenced by ocean currents. In some territories, there is warm almost all year round. However, it can also snow in Australia!

What’s the capital of the Commonwealth of Australia?
I think, Australia, is one of these countries, that we can easily make a mistake while answering above question.
So, Canberra is the capital, but Sydney is the largest city in Australia.

Today, we have the last post from Spain. Well, I guess, I’ll show you Spain once more at some point on my blog, because it’s a very interesting country, definitely worth exploring!

One of the stereotypes about the Spanish is that they are often late.
Well, obviously it’s not fair saying that all Spanish are often late, but there has to be something in it… 😉 Based on my trips, I’d rather said, people from Spanish speaking countries are often late, e.g., from South America in general (also Brazil), but not so much from Spain. 😉

I visited Melilla on my way back from Morocco. Otherwise, I would probably never gone there, neither heard about the city. There are some nice places in Melilla, but I don’t have good memories. If you’re planning to have a stopover in Melilla (Africa), expect a messy border checkpoint…

So, storks are other reason for visiting Alcalá de Henares. 😀
(Well, sometimes any reason is good!)
I think they’re cute birds, and look great in this nice town.

Why to go to Alcalá de Henares in Spain?
There are a few reasons.
First, it’s nearby Madrid, so why not? 😉
Second, Miguel de Cervantes (author of “Don Quixote”) was born there.
Third, it’s a lovely town (with a very prestigious university).
Tomorrow, I’ll give you one more reason. 😉

I visited Siguenza, kind of by accident. And still have the impression it’s not so well known town, or am I wrong?
If you have time, visit Siguenza (it’s not so far from Madrid) and its beautiful castle and cathedral.

Segovia is one the gems located nearby Madrid.
It’s famous for amazing Roman aqueduct.
In general, Segovia is a nice city; but the aqueduct is simply stunning!

I visited Malaga on the way from Morocco.
I guess, many people can say: “I visited Malaga on the way to Gibraltar”. 😉
So is it worth visiting? – Yes, it is. 🙂
p.s. Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga; and there is alcohol called Malaga…

Barcelona is a great tourist attraction of Spain. And there are good reasons for it!

This time, I won’t show you any pictures from Barcelona, but from Girona.
There are many flight to Girona-Barcelona airport. So it’s likely, that you’ll arrive to Girona, while flying to Barcelona. If you have a few hours and you’re tired of crowds, visit Girona. 😉

Avila is a lovely town, not so far from Madrid.
It has a cute nickname, i.e., “Town of Stones and Saints”.
And you’ll find in Avila great medieval town walls and many churches.
I can highly recommend to visit Avila. 🙂

I told you already that Madrid is not my favorite city in Spain. So when I was in Madrid, I was always trying to get somewhere nearby. I was amazed by big number of lovely towns located “nearby” Madrid. Well, maybe some of them are not very close to Madrid, but it was still quite convenient to go there by train.

I was visiting Spain many times, in different seasons.
What I liked and what surprised me was a large number of storks!
In some towns, storks were “everywhere”, super cute! 🙂

Spain offers lots of tourist attractions; a bit of almost everything (culture & nature).
At the end, it’s a big country with many islands.

As I already mentioned, I used to like Don Quixote a lot (I’m not so crazy any more).
So when I was planing my visit to Toledo, I had to search for windmills. I went to Consuegra and that was a great choice. It’s a magical place. 🙂

If you’re planing to visit Spain, definitely put on your list Toledo with Consuegra!

Where are the most beautiful windmills?
