Netherlands – Seals

Seal in Pieterburen
Seal in Pieterburen

At the coast or on islands it’s likely to encounter a seal. Sometimes they need help. If so, they’re taken to the Seal Rehabilitation and Research Centre in Pieterburen. It’s a nice place to visit, to learn about seals and to observe these cute animals.

This picture was taken through the glass of the pool with seals. They’re swimming to the glass and observing people, or we’re observing them. 😉

Foki podpływały do szyby i przyglądały się ludziom, a my im. 🙂

  1. Don’t you wish you could read their minds? It’s fun to imagine, but mostly we just project our human viewpoint on them. I love their eyes. But they don’t seem to have pupils? Fun photo. Thanks.

    1. Thank you!
It would be interesting to understand them, but it’s also funny to give them our own interpretation 😉
This species seems to have really huge, beautiful eyes, I also love them! They have pupils, but indeed it’s difficult to see them.
      Have a beautiful day! 🙂

  2. Love this! I wish I will see them someday here in the NL – the wild ones.. I am not that lucky yet 🙂

  3. I was there last week visiting the center 🙂 . It’s quite a beautiful place, and their work is impressive. The seals are absolutely amazing! I had a lot of fun watching them. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Thank for visiting my blog!
It’s nice you went there, it’s a bit far (considering distances in the Netherlands 😉 ), but it’s worth visiting 🙂
