Philippines – Natural Disasters

Mt Pinatubo, the Philippines

There is something more, you should have in mind before planning your trip to the Philippines.
The Philippines are located on the Pacific Ring of Fire and close to the equator. That makes earthquakes, typhoons, monsoon rains, floods or landslides, and volcanic eruptions more likely to occur in the Philippines.
It’s never boring there…

  1. Rainy season is from June to November. We go there during the summer season here in the US, and rainy season over there….. our situation isn’t pretty. The last time we were there, we experienced a “regular ” typhoon that knocked out electricity, for one week. All the malls were closed, so for one week , we stayed home… great experience , though.
