Lake Toba, Sumatra Island

Lake Toba is the largest volcanic lake in the world, and located in Sumatra Island, Indonesia.
It covers an area of 1,707 square km with an island in the center (Samosir Island), what makes it the largest caldera on Earth. It was formed by a gigantic volcanic eruption that took place around 70,000 years ago.

If it doesn’t sound tempting enough, tomorrow and after I’ll tell you more about this place. 🙂
