You can cross the equator in Ecuador without really noticing it.
Or you can visit a museum and Equatorial Monument.

Ecuador lies on the equator, that’s the place where the Earth is the widest.
There are 13 countries that lie on the equator: Brazil, Colombia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ecuador, Gabon, Indonesia, Kenya, Kiribati, Maldives, Republic of the Congo, Sao Tome & Principe, Somalia, and Uganda.
Why Ecuador is called Ecuador?
-Well, Ecuador is named after equator and I find it quite nice.
Galapagos Islands belongs to Ecuador.
However, the islands are so unique, that should be treated somehow separately, and I also had already a single month only about the Galapagos Island.
Anyway, it’s an amazing place and please have a look at my posts before planing your trip to the Galapagos Islands; I was trying to include some information how to make your trip more eco-friendly and ethical.
The flag of Ecuador consists of 3 horizontal bands: yellow (double width), blue and red.
As a small confusion, I’m showing you today a flag of Quito. 🙂
Republic of Ecuador is a relatively small South American country.
It’s only bordered by Colombia and Peru.
Welcome to Ecuador!
October on my blog is going to be all about this South American country.
I can promise you lots of nature and … snow. 🙂
Hopefully, you’ll like it.
As a final word for this month travel impressions, I want to emphasised that my time in Egypt was very limited and I didn’t have a chance to go to many places I dream of – like Luxor. Hopefully, one day, I can visit more of Egypt and then prepare a second month about Egypt on my blog. 🙂
For now, that’s all about Egypt; hopefully, you liked some of the pictures.
And tomorrow, we’re going far, far away. 🙂
I remember from Egypt its crazy traffic. Then, I thought, maybe I shouldn’t mention it, because it’s nothing unusual in Africa or Asia. On the other hand, it’s also something characteristic for these places and doesn’t really happen in Europe; at least not in this scale. 😉
I’ve already mentioned before, but didn’t really write anything about Sinai or Sinai Peninsula.
Sinai Peninsula is actually a very tourist part of Egypt with well known resort towns, coast, coral reef and biblical Mount Sinai.
The Sahara desert takes a large part of the Egyptian territory.
It doesn’t make the life of Egyptians easier, but for tourists it’s a great chance to see the desert.
I like to read about tourism slogans of different countries.
For Egypt it’s: “Where It All Begins”.
I think it’s a nice one.
Along the Red Sea coast, there are many Egyptian resorts, two very well known towns are called: Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada.
Not a bed option for a few days.
The Gulf of Suez is situated in Egypt, at the end of Sinai Peninsula.
There is a boundary between Africa and Asia.
Suez Canal was built in Egypt to connect the Mediterranean Sea (Port Said) with the Red Sea (Port Tewfik, Suez).
It’s a very important waterway.
You don’t have to dive in Egypt, enjoying water and sunny days is also a good option in Egypt.
Many people love to dive and explore Red Sea in Egypt. And there are good reasons to do so.
Egypt has an access to two seas: the Mediterranean and Red Sea.
It’s also one of the reasons why people like to visit Egypt.
Egypt has a hot, dry climate; so no wonder it’s a very popular destination during winter, i.e., from about October to March, and especially in December.
Camels are often a tourist attraction, and it’s possible to have a camel ride. Definitely, not my favorite way of transportation…
What do you think about camel riding?
