The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is large, but it’s not the largest mosque in the world.
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is large, but it’s not the largest mosque in the world.
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is very unique (like everything in the Emirates?) and it’s worth visiting, at least to see all impressive/crazy decorations.
I’m almost sure, there is no tourist who went to Abu Dhabi without visiting the Sheikh Zayed Mosque.
What about you?
Abu Dhabi has a number of tourist attractions, but the most known is the Sheikh Zayed Mosque.
Abu Dhabi is the largest state, i.e., emirate, of the UAE.
Abu Dhabi city is the capital of this emirate and of the country.
Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
Yes, it’s Abu Dhabi, not Dubai. 😉
Islam is the official religion of the UAE, however, there are many foreigners living in Emirates, thus the percentage of non-Muslims is relatively high.
Do you agree with me to call the Emirates as a country of crazy ideas?
They have been able to make many of their wishes come true.
Personally, I’m not impressed by artificial islands or modern architecture, but, I would be really impressed if they make some ecological projects.
After visiting the UAE, you get an impression it’s a country that likes to win and lead.
You’ll find there many “things” that can be describe as “the biggest”, “the tallest”, “the most fancy” etc.
Dear Emirates, you have some power!
Please show the world how to become the most ecological country!
Give an example to everyone, show it’s possible!
Often, in minds of many, New York City is very modern.
But it’s not really true…
It’s rather Singapore or Dubai are very modern places.
The flag of the UAE was designed in 1971,
and each of its colors has a few meanings, that all together make it a very important symbol.
E.g., colors stand for courage, strength, hope, love, peace, honesty, etc.
One may say that you can visit the United Arab Emirates all year round.
It may be truth, but I recommend to avoid summer months, i.e., June, July, August, because it’s very hot there. Even air-condition is almost everywhere, you may feel exhausted because of the heat.
And I think, it’s nice to escape cold December and enjoy warm days in the Emirates. 🙂
When I think “gold”, two countries come to my mind, it’s Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.
What’s your association?
When you’re in Dubai, visit the Gold Souk and you’ll understand my second choice. 😉
The United Arab Emirates consists of seven independent city-states: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Umm al-Quwain, Fujairah, Ajman and Ra’s al-Khaimah.
Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan was the 1st President of the United Arab Emirates (until his death in 2004). He is often called as the “Father of the nation”.
Welcome to United Arab Emirates!
In November, I’ll show you my travel impressions from the UAE.
I can promise lots of sunshine. 🙂
Today, the last day of October, I’m showing you my last picture from Ecuador. How did you like my travel impressions from a diverse land of chocolate?
I didn’t mention one food-product yesterday… it’s a chocolate or cacao.
Ecuador claims that it produces a special kind of cacao, and used to be the largest fine or flavored cacao producer in the world.
Check the “visit.ecuador” website for all “sweet” details.
Fortunately, I didn’t forget about chocolate while being in Ecuador and bought a very, very dark Ecuadorian chocolate. 🙂
Ecuador is a diverse country, based on climate zones, nature, people, and also its cuisine. My “food-memories” include plantains, avocados and soups. I’m not sure does it sound good, but you can be sure to find in Ecuador variety of delicious dishes. 🙂
What’s the tourism slogan of Ecuador?
Well, I’ve heard a few versions, e.g.:
-“We are a country full of colors”
or
-“All you need is Ecuador”.
They basically show how diverse and interesting Ecuador is.
Do you like them?
