Nîmes is a town nearby the Mediterranean Sea.
Its history is dating back to the Roman Empire and you still find there some Roman architecture e.g., the Arena of Nîmes.

France – Jeanne d’Arc (Joan of Arc)
Saint Jeanne d’Arc (Joan of Arc) or The Maid of Orléans is a heroine of France, however at the age of 19 she was burned at the stake.
France – Rouen
Rouen (and its cathedral) is maybe the most known from the paintings of Monet.
And I think, it’s a good reason to visit the city. 🙂
I went to Rouen in December, and was a bit surprised by snow, lots of snow… so, I decided to not show you the beautiful Rouen cathedral, but the snowy day. 🙂
France – Strasbourg
Strasbourg is a lovely city located at the boarder with Germany.
It’s also full of storks, at least soft toys. 😉

French flag consist of three vertical bands coloured blue, white, and red.
France – Language
French is of course the official language in France.
If you are able to speak some French, your life in France (plus quite a bit number of other countries) will be much easier! 😉

If there is “water”, there is also seafood. 😉

France is surrounded by mountains, seas and Atlantic Ocean; everyone can find something interesting. 🙂

France is obviously famous for wine (e.g., Bordeaux) and sparkling wine (Champagne); red, white and rose.
The price of a bottle doesn’t have to go with its quality, so again, try and enjoy. 😉

French cuisine is considered as very delicious.
What are the French dishes that first come to your mind?
-I’d say, baguette, cheese and wine are the most famous French single “products”.
Then, there is lots of sweets, e.g., macaron or creme brûlée.
I fell in love with tarte, both sweet and savoury.
When you go to France, enjoy and celebrate your meals, you’ll find lots of great options.
France – Mont-Saint-Michel
Mont-Saint-Michel is an island with a monastery and abbey, located in Normandy.
It’s an amazing place, no wonder it’s listed as the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
When I was a child, my grandmother was telling me about her visit to the Mont-Saint-Michel and since that time I wanted to go there as well.
And I wasn’t disappointed by it at all; it’s stunning and very impressive.
It’s also interesting to visit the Mont-Saint-Michel twice, to experience different tides.
France – Ice Cave
The area nearby Chamonix, with the Mer de Glace glacier I showed you yesterday, has one more attraction – Ice Cave (Grotte de glace). You can take a short walk in a ice cave or kind of ice tunnel.

In the French Alps, you’ll find amazing glaciers, one of them is called Mer de Glace.
Go there to see the lovely scenery, but also “experience” how it’s melting and shrinking… 🙁 You can compare the current view with the older pictures, and the difference is sadly huge…
France – Castles of the Loire Valley
Nearby Paris, there is a famous Loire Valley with castles, vineyards and charming towns.
Definitely an area worth visiting.
To enjoy it the most, cycling and walking are great options.
France – Mont Blanc
Mont Blanc (French) or Monte Bianco (Italian) (literally White Mountain) – is the highest mountain in the Alps, 4’809 m above sea level. It’s located on the boarder between France and Italy.
France – Winter
Winter in snowy French mountains can be lovely.
But winter in Paris, when the weather is quite extreme, may be muddy, rainy, and annoying or surprising. Everything is possible…
I experienced nice winter in Paris, but also a very bad one with e.g., lots of flight cancellations because it was snowing a bit and nobody was prepared for it…

Autumn – here warm and sunny;
rainy, cold and “better stay home” is also possible. 😉

I rather avoid, if possible, traveling to France in summer;
it may be charming,
it may be crowded…

-Well, I think each season can be nice, depending which area you want to visit and what’s the goal of your trip.
-My favorite is spring and autumn.
