Germany – Neuschwanstein Castle

Neuschwanstein Castle, Germany
Neuschwanstein Castle, Germany

Cats, cars, trains, nice cities, lovely towns and lakes – that’s what I showed you so far. It’s not the end of German attractions. You’ll also easily find many castles in Germany. Probably the most known is Neuschwanstein Castle (as famous as it’s difficult to pronounce its name 馃槈 ).
Neuschwanstein was model for the Sleeping Beauty Castle of Disneyland and it’s the most iconic puzzle’s picture.

In the today’s picture, you can see only its side, that’s why the castle looks quite small. But you can see lovely mountains nearby the castle.
The interior of the castle is very rich. Some people say it’s kitschy, others love it. The best is to check by yourself to have your own opinion.

Koty, samochody, poci膮gi, urocze miasteczka i jeziora – tyle dotychczas Wam pokaza艂am. Jednak to nie koniec niemieckich atrakcji. Kolejn膮 s膮 zamki, kt贸rych mn贸stwo znajdziecie w Niemczech.
Na podstawie Neuschwanstein zaprojektowano zamek 艢pi膮cej Kr贸lewny w Disneylandzie. Domy艣lam si臋, 偶e wielu z Was widzia艂o zamek na puzzlach.

Postanowi艂am jednak pokaza膰 Wam to zdj臋cie, poniewa偶 tutaj wida膰 jakie pi臋kne g贸ry otaczaj膮 zamek.
Wn臋trze zamku jest do艣膰 wyj膮tkowe. Jedni okre艣l膮 je mianem przepychu czy kiczu, a inni b臋d膮 zachwyceni. Najlepiej przekona膰 si臋 samemu.

Germany – Konigssee

Konigssee, Germany
Konigssee, Germany

Konigssee (K枚nigssee) is another beautiful German lake in the Alps. If you go there, hopefully you have a better weather than I had, however, dark clouds are also charming.

p.s. Maybe you already realized by the names of Konigssee or Bodensee, that German “see”, that sounds like English “sea” means here actually “lake”. Please keep it in mind, I’ll back to it in a 2 days.

__________________________________________________________

Jezioro Kr贸lewskie to kolejne, pi臋kne niemieckie jezioro le偶膮ce u podn贸偶a Alp. Je偶eli si臋 tam wybierzecie, mam nadziej臋, 偶e traficie na lepsz膮 pogod臋 ni偶 ja mia艂am. Z drugiej strony, ciemne, deszczowe chmury te偶 maj膮 sw贸j urok.

Germany – Bodensee (Lake Constance)

Bodensee (Lake Constance), Germany
Bodensee (Lake Constance), Germany

Bodensee (English: Lake Constance) it’s a lake, nicely located near the Alps in 3 countries, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. On German side, you can visit the lake in 2 states, Bavaria and Baden-W眉rttemberg. Whatever place you choose, I’m sure you can have a lovely day!

I visited Bodensee from Bavaria and took a train to Lindau. Lindau is an old, picturesque town. It’s famous for tourists, but also for Nobel Prize laureates; since 1951 the Nobel Laureate Meetings take place in Lindau.

__________________________________________________________

Po stronie niemieckiej znajduje si臋 w Bawarii i Badenii-Wirtembergii. Niezale偶nie, kt贸re miejsce obierzecie na cel swojej wycieczki, jestem pewna, 偶e sp臋dzicie uroczy dzie艅 nad jeziorem.

Dawno temu b臋d膮c w Bawarii, wybra艂am si臋 nad Jezioro Bode艅skie. Pojecha艂am poci膮giem do miejscowo艣ci Lindau, dzi臋ki czemu mia艂am okazj臋 nie tylko przespacerowa膰 si臋 nad jeziorem, ale i zwiedzi膰 pi臋kne miasteczko.

Germany – Landshut

Landshut Wedding, Germany
Landshut Wedding, Germany

Landshut is a lovely town in Bavaria. I’m sure you can enjoy it any time, but the best possible period is during a huge medieval festival called the Landshuter Hochzeit (Landshut Wedding). It’s celebrated only every four years; next time it’s in 2017 (June-July). So plan it well in advance, it’s really worth visiting!

I also mention it, because it’s connected with Poland. This festival commemorates the wedding between the Polish King’s daughter (Jadwiga Jagiellon), and George, the son of the Duke of Bavaria. My picture was taken in 2009, and as you can see, there were many people. I don’t like crowds, but I had a great time there and since then I recommend this festival to everyone!

__________________________________________________________

Landshut to pi臋kne miasteczko w Bawarii.

Najbli偶szy termin to lato 2017 – warto ju偶 zaplanowa膰 wizyt臋.

Germany – Munich

Munich, Germany
Munich, Germany

Munich (German: M眉nchen) is also one of the most known German cities.
Munich is located in a state called Bavaria (Bayern). If you speak German, you already know that each German state has its own accent. And be aware, that you may really have difficulties to understand Bavarian accent.

Definitely, you’ll find many attractions in Munich. However, I recommend to explore also Bavaria. There are many beautiful places around, lovely towns and amazing nature. And they are not so crowded as Munich!
I’ll present a few charming places during the next days.

__________________________________________________________

Je偶eli znacie j臋zyk niemiecki, to pewnie wiecie, 偶e w r贸偶nych miejscach w Niemczech ludzie m贸wi膮 z typowym dla danego regionu akcentem. A akcent w Bawarii chyba jest najtrudniejszym do zrozumienia…

Samo Monachium jest oczywi艣cie warte odwiedzenia, jednak mnie najbardziej zauroczy艂o “wszystko” dooko艂a, czyli urocze miasteczka i przyroda. W ci膮gu kilku kolejnych dni poka偶臋 Wam r贸偶ne oblicza Bawarii.

Germany – Cologne

Cologne, Germany
Cologne, Germany

Cologne (German K枚ln) is a big city, and one of the most famous in Germany. Its main attraction is the Cologne Cathedral. Many tourists come also in winter to visit typical Christmas Market in Cologne or enjoy the Cologne Carnival.

Christmas Markets take place in many cities or villages in Germany. And they’re definitely a big attraction both for tourists and locals. You can buy there Christmas presents or simply meet friends and enjoy the atmosphere and hot wine. Christmas Markets usually starts at the end of November and last until Christmas.

__________________________________________________________

Kolonia to jedno z wi臋kszych miast w Niemczech. Jest tak偶e bardzo znane w艣r贸d turyst贸w. Powod贸w (atrakcji) jest wiele, jednak najwi臋ksze to Katedra, karnawa艂 i jarmark bo偶onarodzeniowy.

S艂ynne niemieckie jarmarki bo偶onarodzeniowe odbywaj膮 si臋 w wielu miastach i miasteczkach. 馃檪 Wi臋kszo艣膰 jarmark贸w odbywa si臋 od ko艅ca listopada a偶 do Bo偶ego Narodzenia.

Germany – Potsdam

Potsdam, Germany
Potsdam, Germany

Potsdam is a lovely town just outside Berlin. Some people even say, not to go to Berlin, but only to Potsdam. I think both places are worth visiting! And when you’re planning to visit Berlin, find also time to go to Potsdam. It’s very easy to get there from Berlin and you won’t regret!

The most popular attraction in Potsdam is Sanssouci Park where you’ll find a botanical garden and many palaces. It’s the place where you want to be on a sunny day.

__________________________________________________________

Poczdam to urocze miasto tu偶 pod Berlinem. S艂ysza艂am nawet opinie, 偶e nie warto zwiedza膰 Berlin, a lepiej od razu wybra膰 si臋 do Poczdamu. 馃檪 Wydaje mi si臋 jednak, 偶e oba miejsca s膮 warte odwiedzenia!

Najpopularniejsz膮 atrakcj膮 w Poczdamie jest Park Sanssouci. Znajdziecie tam m.in. ogr贸d botaniczny i pi臋kne pa艂ace – to idealne miejsce na spacer!

Germany – Berlin

Berlin Wall, Germany
Berlin Wall, Germany

Berlin is the capital of Germany, so at least from this reason I have to mention it. Berlin has lots to offer and you can easily spend there a few busy days. If you don’t have so much time, I can highly recommend to visit some museums (e.g., the Pergamon Museum is really great!). And learn a bit of history by finding parts of the Berlin Wall. They are spread in a huge area, so plan in advance which places you want to visit.
And I think, you should also see the Brandenburg Gate. It’s so famous so without seeing it, you almost cannot say you were in Berlin.

Berlin is also the biggest city in Germany and one of its 16 states. Did you know about this similarity between Germany and USA? They are both federal republics and consist of states, and each state has its own government. When I heard about it a long time ago, I was really surprised. I mean, it was very strange for me, that e.g., education system in different states is different, so in different states children start school at different ages, etc.!

__________________________________________________________

Bramy Brandenburskiej, to nie by艂 w Berlinie.

Specjalnie napisa艂am “stan贸w” aby nawi膮za膰 do podobie艅stwa do USA. Niemcy i USA to pa艅stwa federacyjne, a ich poszczeg贸lne stany maj膮 np. swoje w艂asne prawa i urz臋dy.

Germany – Trains

Trains, Germany
Trains, Germany

Trains are perfect ways of transportation in Germany! All country is well connected by trains. There are “slow” local trains (e.g., RE), as well as very fast ones (IC, ICE). The general idea is that fast train connection should be faster than going somewhere by car. And often it’s really the case! And simply, traveling by trains is very convenient!
However, train tickets can be quite expensive, but there are special offers to get them cheaper especially when you buy tickets in advance.

p.s. Usually railroad tracks in Germany look much better than the one from the picture.

__________________________________________________________

Podr贸偶 poci膮giem to 艣wietny pomys艂 na zwiedzanie Niemiec.

p.s. Z regu艂y niemieckie tory kolejowe wygl膮daj膮 lepiej ni偶 te ze zdj臋cia.

Germany – Cars

Car, Germany
Car, Germany

Germany is a huge cars producer. In many countries people believe that everyone in Germany has a fancy car. Many Germans have cars, but there are also many of them without a car – and it’s by choice not by a financial situation. The carsharing idea is very popular in Germany. On the other hand, the car company lobby is very huge in Germany and they have a very strong influence on the policy making. What we all could see some time ago, concerning car pollution, there was a big issue at the beginning, but at the end not so much was done about it…

In Germany, roads are in very good conditions and one some motorways it’s allowed to drive with an unlimited speed. However, their number is decreasing, and currently over 2/3 roads have a speed limit of 130 km/h. I would said, Germans are usually fairly safe drivers, but foreigners often get crazy here and that’s dangerous…

Niemcy s膮 w czo艂贸wce 艣wiatowego przemys艂u motoryzacyjnego. W wielu krajach panuje przekonanie, 偶e ka偶dy Niemiec ma luksusowy samoch贸d. Jednak firmy produkuj膮ce samochody maj膮 w Niemczech ogromn膮 鈥瀢艂adz臋鈥 (niestety!).

Niemieckie drogi s膮 utrzymywane w dobrym stanie. (Liczba autostrad bez ograniczenia pr臋dko艣ci spada i obecnie 2/3 z nich maj膮 ograniczenia do 130 km/h.)

Germany – Introduction

Cat, Germany
Cat, Germany

In May, I want to take you for a trip to Germany. I visited so many beautiful places in Germany, so for sure, I’ll make in future another month about Germany. In May, I want to show you the most iconic places. I’ll also try to convince you that Germany is not only Berlin, Munich or Heidelberg – I think these 3 cities are the most famous, they are great, but in Germany you’ll find much, much more!

You may wonder, why I’m showing you today a picture of a cat. Well, it’s at the front of a German car (D is for Deutschland), but it’s not the main reason. Apparently many Germans love cats! Even when I was in Bhutan and was playing with a cat, someone (a tourist) asked me, am I from Germany, because Germans love cats! I believe many Germans also love dogs, however I like this story, and think it’s a good reason to post a photo of this kitty.

__________________________________________________________

Mo偶e kto艣 z Was pomy艣li “nic specjalnego”; sama kiedy艣 tak my艣la艂am, ale zmieni艂am zdanie!

Mo偶e si臋 zastanawiacie co zdj臋cie kota ma wsp贸lnego z Niemcami, pomijaj膮c widoczn膮 w tyle niemieck膮 tablic臋 rejestracyjn膮. Nawet gdy by艂am w Bhutanie i zacz臋艂am si臋 bawi膰 z napotkanym kotem, jaki艣 turysta zapyta艂 mnie czy jestem z Niemiec, bo Niemcy lubi膮 koty. 馃榾 I tak oto bhuta艅ska historia sk艂oni艂a mnie aby pokaza膰 Wam dzisiaj takie zdj臋cie.
